Hearing His Voice
I remember when I was fresh in my faith and heard other Christians say, "God spoke to me..." I would wonder how they knew God was speaking and because I didn't have the same experience, I would wonder why God didn't talk to me.

God promised Abraham that he would have a son with his wife, Sarah, but God took many years to fulfill his promise. During the wait, Abraham had Ishmael with Hagar, Sarah's maid. Ishmael represents anything in our life that we produce with our strength to fulfill God's promises.
